My Motivator.

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Crystal Light Pure Fitness.

Week two has me thinking hard about what is motivating me to continue on my physical fitness quest.  At 39, it seems like it’s a bit late in life to finally focus on my health.  About a year and a half ago, I looked at some pictures a friend had taken over Spring Break. I couldn’t believe what was looking back at me - it couldn’t really be me, could it?  This was not a happy surprise - it was quite depressing.

It was then that something in me snapped and I decided that I could - and would - change my eating habits, my exercise habits, and my priorities in life.  I knew I probably would never look like a waif, but I figured I could certainly look a lot better.

One of the best things I did was sign up for a local running group, geared toward mothers.  We meet every Saturday morning at 7.30 am.  We load up our water bottles and stretch, then run a variety of courses.  Our trainer has us running three times a week, but only one is a group run.  That group run has become better than therapy for me.  We talk, laugh, commiserate, sometimes complain (lately about the heat), and very often get each other through the miles.  It’s both supportive and motivating. If I don’t show up, I know I’m going to be questioned or heckled by the other moms.  When I do show up, I can see not only my own progress, but everyone else’s as well.  It’s a committed bunch of moms!

Our trainer provided us with pink wristbands, similar to the yellow “Live Strong” bands.  Ours say “Another Mother Runner”, but we all took a black Sharpie and wrote our motivation on the inside of the bracelet.  I wear this whenever I run.  Many times when I feel like quitting, I run my finger around the inside of the band and remember why I’m doing what I’m doing.  My motivation for running is simple:  myself.  It’s not simple to put myself as a priority, or take time away from other things that always seem more important.  Having a support team and my motivation written in black forces me to continue putting me, and my health, as a priority.  It’s single-handedly gotten me through one of the worst years of my life.

There are many little things that support and motivate me:  having the right shoes, the right gear, and the right nutrition and hydration.  Without all of these pieces working together, there’s no way I could do it on my own.  Since I got a running belt, I fill it with the Crystal Light Pure Fitness Grape Flavor. It’s definitely my favorite, and occasionally I even share with the other women.  Occasionally.

my greatest motivator is my wardrobe.  was that shirt this tight the last time i wore it?  surely not.  my “smaller” clothes are way cuter than my “yards and yards of fabric” clothes.  i want to wear cute clothes, not a tent.

It’s never too late in life to start focusing on your health.  My greatest motivator was a picture of me on vacation at Lake Tahoe 5yrs ago.  I literally looked like Peter from The Family Guy…ugh!  Well, thanks to improved eating habits and working out, I’m back to my old self and feeling tons better and have burned that picture of whoever that was.  When the metabolism goes, you have to make changes.

You guys are the best motivators!  You’re spot on about that.  Knowing that I’ll be missed or heckled on Saturday morning drags me out of bed or forces me to lace up my shoes during the week.  Also knowing that when I’m struggling someone will hang back with me at the “back of the pack.”  A great coach who threatens to smack you when you lose confidence doesn’t hurt either. wink

In the end, though, I’m motivated to run for sanity.  If I don’t run, I can’t cope.

My biggest motivator is a pair of 20yr old Levi jeans, cut off and perfect for boating, yard work, or a quick trip to the store!  I love those cutoffs, indeed!  I can get all 5 buttons of the button fly closed, but not without a major muffin top.  All I need to do is leave those shorts on my kitchen counter or near the wine rack to help with the thoughtless munching or drinking.
I haven’t fit into those suckers in 5 years and I’m ever so close to wearing them in public!

My greatest motivator is my health. I want to stay healthy as I get older. Keeping my weight normal and eating sensibly are a part of that.

My inspiration is my community.  I live in a community where there are a lot of elder, disabled and people with many healthy problems.

My sister is my motivator. She is a dynamo. And she’s only 2 years younger than me. While I feel like a slug, she’s dancing the night away. She wants to travel, and you gotta be in shape to travel! So I have to say that she is my inspiration, otherwise I’m afraid I’d just give up…

I have a few motivators that keep me going.  My friend, Jill, has lost over 100lbs and to know someone who has done it and continues to succeed is always helpeful.  I love Jillian Michaels - listen, read, watch everything she does - and I can hear her voice in my head sometimes to keep me going.

And then there is me.  I’ve learned to focus on what I gain from doing exercise and activities rather than how much I dislike it.  It makes it a lot easier to approach.

My best motivator is truly my mindset. If I say I want to do something I definitely will.

Some time ago, I needed to buy a good car for my business but I didn’t earn enough money and could not order anything. Thank heaven my fellow proposed to get the mortgage loans at banks. Thus, I did that and was happy with my sba loan.

That is hard to make a proper option when you’re going to buy an essays online. You need to be extra careful doing it!

Sometimes, everything that seems to be difficult is simple and guys just need to notice it! In fact, research papers accomplishing seems to be complex, nonetheless, it’s just from the one view! It is easy if you unclose your feelings and see altered stuff. Therefore, you can just use research papers buy options, just because it is your a different way.
