Chocolate Cures Everything.

I know many of you out there in the world wide interweb struggle with weight, dieting, starving, gorging, and trying to strike a balance between all of them.  I KNOW I’m not the only one who will work out for an hour so I can eat a brownie . . .right???  Right?  (insert crickets chirping here) . . . That being said, when M&M Premiums offered some bloggers a chance to try their new product, and then talk about it - I was all over it.  Chocolate and writing?  What could be better?  And when they told me that one lucky reader (and commenter) would win a prize pack of M&M Premiums . . . well, I knew you wouldn’t want me to pass this up.

image

A couple of weeks ago, a huge box landed on my doorstep.  Inside it was a veritable treasure chest of chocolate goodness.  Is it crude to say that it also coincided with some heinous PMS?  At first I thought they had sent me the prize pack - then, I realized it was all for ME ME ME!  My Catholic guilt kicked in when I also realized I was having a bunch of friends in for the weekend.  This meant I only hogged the chocolate almond variety to myself. I shared everything else (see picture below for proof!).  Here’s the thing:  though I may be watching what I eat, and focusing on health, a girl has got to have a little bit of chocolate.  At least occasionally.  M&M Premiums are the perfect size and texture to kill off that chocolate craving without destroying your healthy eating.  Since I had never had the Premiums before, I had no idea what to expect.  Well folks, they are sure a world away from the good old M&M.  Instead of a hard candy shell, the outside is colorful and slightly crunchy.  Inside is delicious chocolate and whatever flavor you wish.  My personal favorites are the Mint Chocolate, Raspberry Almond, and Chocolate Almond.  I also really liked the packaging. Some of my favorite candy gets stale very quickly.  The inside sleeve of the Premiums is resealable, and the carton has a tab closure for extra special freshness.  Best of all, a serving size is a substantial 1/4 cup and has about 240 calories.  I contained myself and would eat closer to 1/8 cup, which was just enough to kill my chocolate craving but not enough to ruin my diet.

I also walked away from the entire taste and review experience giggling.  Mike, the husband, tried one.  His comment?  “These aren’t anything like M&Ms.  There isn’t even a candy shell!”  Ummm, yeah.  That’s why they are called something different.  Don’t let the M&M brand name fool you (or, if you’re a guy, confuse you).  If you like M&Ms, great - you’ll probably like these too. If you don’t like M&Ms, try these. You’ll like them.  Comprendes?  Okay.

Helena particularly enjoyed the Chocolate Mint (and yes, her shirt matches!!!).  I wanted to fight her for them, but I realized fist fighting over chocolate really wasn’t setting a good example for my kids.  And frankly, I think Helena could take me.

Between 6 women, we finished off all but 1/2 box.  Everyone had their favorite.  Aren’t you dying to know what your favorite will be?  This is where you come in. Leave me a comment, telling me how you could use M&M Premiums to help you not feel deprived.  Tell me how you could use this little luxury in your daily life.  Don’t be ashamed to admit you aren’t going to share it with the kids.  Heck, I hide mine in the bread machine!  (Helpful hint:  I tell the kids that my candy is “diet” and doesn’t taste good.  Works every time . . .)  Share your story in the comments section, or you may leave a link to your post on your own blog in the comments below.  The contest will begin at 12:00 a.m. (PST) on Monday, February 2nd, and will end Sunday, February 8th at 11:59 p.m (PST).  Make sure that the e-mail address you leave is correct. (Of course I won’t sell or give your email address to anyone - duh!)  Even better, there are 7 more chances to win if you don’t win here . . . see who else is participating by checking out the special offers page (linked below).

If you win, you’ll receive:

1 carton of M&M’S® Premiums Raspberry Almond
1 carton of M&M’S® Premiums Chocolate Almond
1 carton of M&M’S® Premiums Mocha
1 carton of M&M’S® Premiums Triple Chocolate

I really doubt I could take you, thankfully we can all be adult about our chocolate addiction. I do love the mint ones. They are so good.I probably would share a little with my kids, just a few. But there is a package of them currently hiding in my desk drawer. (I eat them at night after the kids are asleep!)

I would LOVE to try that kind you ate all of!

Does this come with the mint kind in it? You didn’t list it, but its in the picture.

My 2-year old, Ellie, took over my roll as the resident M&M Monster. Her love of “choc-y” has helped me with my own cravings because now I have to share. If I win the M&Ms;Premium prize pack, you’ll be making TWO girls very happy.

I want to win the chocolates because I LIKE CHOCOLATE!!! And I will put them to good use.

I not only am an adventurous eatter, I come from a LOOOOOOOOOOONG line of chocoholics.  I’ve only had the chocolate mint M&M’s ( thanks to my dear daughter sharing hers) but I am desperate to try the rest!  Being the mom of 3 teen girls and 1 teen boy, 1 dog, living with my MIL and dealing with a very odd hubby… I am begging for some sweet escape anyway I can get it!  LOL.

This would be great for my stash.  The stash I hide from my kids and sneak into when I need something to keep me sane for the day.

I might share it with my kids when they have a hard day at school though…

Saw these at the store this weekend. I’m a big dark chocolate fan - thought about trying them for Valentine’s Day!

I’ve never tried M&M Premiums, but they look like what you had as a kid, but for adults. What a great concept! The packaging is terrific and the candy looks like the perfect end to a tough day. How could someone feel deprived with those kinds of flavors waiting for you? I think I would use the Triple Chocolate as my reward at the end of a tough day at work.

Sometimes while the kids are napping, I need a little boost.  It would be great to have a good stash of these hidden way up high and I could sneak in and get some.  I’m quite certain that the new M&Ms;would be the perfect fix!

I need a little luxury in my life.  I lost my job and things are tight.  Not only does chocolate make you feel better but it’s a nice treat I wouldn’t otherwise buy!

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  01:51 AM

With the stress of Job Hunting all I want to do is eat and eat and snack on comforting things like ice cream and chocolate, these would help me limit my portions, so instead of a large slice of chocolate cake or a bowl of ice cream, I can have a handful of these at one sitting and not feel like I am depriving myself of something I really enjoy! I haven’t tried these yet, but I think the Raspberry will end up being my favorite!

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  02:01 AM

I reward myself with chocolate every night while watching tv. I hide my chocolate in the nightstand beside my bed. Nobody ever looks in that drawer. I just have to remember not to ask anyone to get something out of that drawer for me or my treasure will be discovered.

M&M’s for adults…OMG are you kidding me???? No way! And….Oh My…they come in raspberry almond…I definately would have to hide them in the car..no, no…under the bed, wait…uhhmmm…at work, yeah, I would take them to work and hide them there, that way I can eat them whenever I want in the privacy of my own office! Hang on a sec…what about at night, or on the weekends…oh no, Ive got to think of a better hiding place…

Brandi  on  02/03  at  10:15 AM

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  10:25 AM

First off, I would indeed share this with the kid in the house.  I would leave the mint flavor in plain view and tell him to help himself.  It’s not my fault he dislikes mint.  I would use this little luxury to reward myself for completing the chores everyone else ignores and leaves for “someone else” (me!).  Since these are thankless chores, I would thank myself and feel no guilt.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  10:35 AM

I am a Chocoholic! There I confessed.  I don’t often splurge on chocolate because frankly I eat the entire bag, box, or container in one sitting.  So if I win I will probably share them (use them as bribes) with the folks at work.  Nothing like a happy co-workers.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  11:14 AM

Please add me to the drawing. Unlike so many of these kind women, I would NOT share. I would be selfish and eat them myself. wink Or use to bribe “the boy” into doing homework without fuss. (Homework makes my son and I both cry…)

This is a luxury that I could use for sure!  Chocolate is a real pick-me-upper!  Especially with these long, cold, depressing winter days!  I sure could use some good comfort food. Thanks for the chance!

I like to buy myself a little treat once every three months or so to reward myself for all my hard work.  I bought the chocolate mint M&M Premiums about 6 months ago and they are wonderful.  I’d love to try the other types, especially the raspberry almond.  Thanks for the chance!

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  03:00 PM

My family has had a really rough year, and we’ve had to cut out a lot. This would be a NICE treat and would be an awesome luxury smile Thanks so much!

Really could use these for those chocolate fixes

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  03:32 PM

I am a choco-holic.  The funny thing is when my children were little I hardly ever bought candy.  I now work from home and find myself snacking much more.

If I won these I would first hide the box of the Raspberry Almond for myself…...then I then would share the rest with my grandson…...but only when he is due to go home….lol.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  03:51 PM

My SO’s a great guy…he buys me chocolate every time we go shopping…but he seems to eat all of it before I have time to realize he’s doing it. I’m so deprived! If I’m lucky enough to win, I’m going to hide my M&M Chocolates in the clothes washer! He’ll never look there!

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  04:11 PM

Are you kidding me - the only way I would share these is if my 3 year old chocoholic grandson found them!!  LOL Then we would sit outside and eat them together while we take a break from playing!!!

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  04:16 PM

I work hard to eat a healthy diet and workout.  These M&M Premiums would be the perfect little indulgence to add a little sweetness to my days!

I hide my M&M’s when my 3 grandchildren come to visit.  Bad Grandma….. no I don’t think so.  It’s just self defense.  If I have any M&M’s out in the open… they will be all gone when they leave.  So if I won I could share with them and not feel bad because I would have enough for them and me.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/03  at  05:18 PM

I’m a pretty health conscience person when it comes to what I snack on. I generally choose healthy choices. I’ve come to the conclusion that cocoa beans are natural and must be good for me. Cocoa beans are in chocolate and chocolate is in M&M Premiums. Therefore they have to be HEALTHY! smile

Never try to take on a woman with chocolate in her hands!  Very wise move on your part!  The chocolate almond m&m’s are amazing.  I would love to try them all, but I won’t let myself buy them.  A little guilt trip I send myself on.  However if I were to win them, why should I be guilty?? Right???

Thank you for the giveaway!

I was raised by a Chocolic who used to “hide” her stash in the freezer.  I have contined the tradtion and hide my M&M’s in the cabinet above the kids plates!  They are only 2 and 4 so I have a while to find a safer place!  I would love to clear out a spot for some new M&M’s!

What woman doesn’t like chocolate and luxury in her life??  I could use a bit of both, though,  right now.  It’s so freakin’ cold (even for the deep South!) and something like a premium chocolate might make me forget for a few minutes about wintertime. Maybe. grin

I just finished the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. In January, I worked out for 30 days straight….no breaks at all. I think I could use a little chocolate as a sweet reward. And, I promise not to undo all of my hard work by hoarding them for myself. I promise to share with my husband, kids and co-workers.

I have always wanted to try these.  The commercials are hillarious:)

Courtney Sanchez  on  02/05  at  09:08 AM

I’m so terrible about chocolate, particularly M&M’s, that I hide all of it in my desk drawer at home so nobody can find it.  One day my son went in there for a piece of paper and he yells Mommy, why do you get to keep all the chocolate in the house, and WHY is there so many empty candy bags in here???

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/05  at  10:06 AM

I prefer not to share my chocolate (after all, maturity should have SOME benefits) but the entire family seems to have a real nose for chocolate.  Therefore, to get the full benefit of the box, would have to eat it fairly rapidly!

Any little luxury is nice in these hard times when you do not have extra money for little luxuries and its even better when the luxury involves chocolate.I can imagine my self relaxing on the couch reading a good book and enjoying these yummy M&Ms;.

Take 1 hour+ commute (that’s each way),
1 cubicle an odd shade of brown,
1 complete lack of desire to be here,
mix well, let simmer for going on two years now,
add chocolate, then tolerate- and life goes on.

Take away chocolate and witness the complete and total annihilation of everything you hold dear.

Oh, and my closet chocoholic husband would like them too.  I for no other reason than I don’t like ones with nuts in them.  Those’ll be the only ones he gets.

Christina A  on  02/05  at  12:10 PM

I do secretly hide chocolate.  I keep it for the days my husband picks up our little girl from school and I eat it while I watch General Hospital.  This only happens 6 days a month.  So, its a big treat for me smile

I could use a little luxury to help me get over the occasional (ok, maybe more than occasional) empty-nest blues I’ve been having.  I never thought I’d miss my kids so much!  I love them, but, you know, when they’re teenagers, and then they come back for awhile after college, you somethimes just want them to LEAVE!  Then, after they do…eventually…you miss them.

I love M&Ms;. When I was very little, my grandma would come over and bring us M&Ms;. Apparently, that was important to me, because instead of calling her “grandma,” I called her M&M! Funny, I am WAY older now and still love them! Thanks for bringing back good memories!

Chocolate is the cure for just about anything.  I would definitely hide these from the kids.  OK I’ll admit it—I would hide them from the hubby as well.  We’re all allowd to be just a bit selfish aren’t we?!?

This is the time of year I dislike the most.  It’s after the holidays but it’s at least another month or so before it starts warming up, at least here in Iowa.  I need some luxury in my life!  I don’t have the money to travel to somewhere warmer, but some M&Ms;Premiums should help.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/05  at  11:07 PM

This would be great to munch on while online!  I usually wait until 10 PM when everyone is sleeping, so I could have these all to myself, but I would probably share a few.  I love chocolate, can never have enough.  It would be nice to be spoiled for a little while too.

I could REALLY use some chocolate. My husband is on a diet (which he doesn’t need, by the way, stupid male metabolism) but since he is we can’t have anything delicious in the house and it’s killing me! I could also use a martini, now that you mention it….

I’m a chocolate nut trying not to blow her diet so I’d share these with my mom who is an M&M freak. She collects all things M&M and thinks there’s something wrong with us if she doesn’t get at least one branded item per holiday/ocassion.  This would put me (almost) tops in her book. lol.

When I’m at the office chocolate is something that doesn’t last very long if anyone knows it’s there. Just the same at home too. It is however the one thing that keeps me sane when I’m having one of those days. Just a few minutes to get a chocolate fix and it can help transform a cranky woman into a calm cool and collected girl. I tend to keep mine in my purse or in my office bag because nobody ever goes through those.

I’d use these little candies by eating just a couple at a time. I eat almonds this way. Usually before a meal, so I don’t load up. The kids think I have odd tastes, so they won’t try these if they think I picked them out.

How have I missed seeing these M & M’s Premium before now?  Maybe I should see a hypnotist—you mean there’s a vice I don’t yet have?

I’d share these with a regular group of friends who go out to eat on Saturday night.  (Okay, I should be honest here—my friends will never see the M & M’s Chocolate Almond or the Triple Chocolate.  I had to get that confession off my chest.)

Fun giveaway.  Thanks!

I am definitly interested in these as a luxury/reward system for myself. I am on my weightloss track to lose all of my baby weight (2 kids in three years) and everyonce in a while I like to treat myself. But the thing is that if I am going to cheat, then I want to do it right and have something good…these look really good. Also, I think I would break down and share with my kids and hubby (wink).

I could use a little luxury in my daily life a lot.  Mostly because I have 3 kids (that seem to double in number based on attitude alone!) and over 150 fish that I breed and raise.  That means a gazillion (or 8) huge aquariums to clean,do water changes, and feed. Also, my in-laws live with us and they’re older, so they take some care and feeding.  So please, please, give me chocolate!  I swear, if you don’t,I may have to move to Hershey, Pennsylvania under an assumed name and get a job at the chocolate factory just to get away from kids, fish, and seniors!

This would be great to keep tucked away to have a special little treat after dinner each night.  Chocolate is such a great “pick-me-up”!

I LOVE chocolate.  My favorite is dark chocolate.  I know I’d love the Triple Chocolate because you can never have too much chocolate!

I could use this little luxury in my life because I am so deprived of luxury. And chocolate always makes everything better, right? Thanks!

Oh, I’d be hiding these where my DH could not find them, that’s for sure. They’d make a great pick me up for my chocolate urges in between doing chores around here. wink

Storm  on  02/07  at  11:40 PM

I deserve these because I am overworked, overstressed, and rarely treat myself.  This would be a great chocolate treat for me!

ummmm…..you mean, there has to be a REASON we want chocolate??????? I thought it was just a given that it is an essential…...as in breathing air?????????

Believe it or not, I would actually take these to work with me to share with my coworkers—we always need a chocolate fix. We have a “go to” chocolate supplier, and I would like to replenish his stash. Thanks so much for the chance to share these goodies!

M&M’s are the best de-stressers ever!  They are my little mood enhancer pills. grin I will use these to “take a break” from my hectic world.  Thank you.

I would love to win this. These arent available in our area as of yet so havnt had the pleasure of trying them. Thats the one draw back of living deep in the hicks..lol. I deserve to win this because I love my chocolate and because I love my family so much I would let them have one each just to try each one to see which one they wish I would give them another one of..just kidding of coarse. But really I would love to win.

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  02/08  at  12:26 AM

I would totally hide them in my desk drawer and eat them as my co- workers irritate me.  I’d share with a couple of my co workers that do not irritate me.

Jennifer A  on  02/08  at  12:35 AM

Well if you are watching what you’re eating, m & m’s can sure help since they are perfect for portion control.

Thank you!

I could use these to not feel deprived because I could hide them- every ounce of chocolate I bring into this house from the grocery store gets inhaled by the two testosterone-laden monsters known as my husband and son.
They would totally not get any. No. I have spoken.

I could use this little luxury in my life because my husband is driving me crazy….he loves to play golf and is usually able to be on the course this time of year but because we had “extra” snow and cold weather he has been unable to play. All I hear about everyday is how he wishes he could play and that he probably won’t get to play at all this year. Winning these chocolates could be my little escape. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love chocolate. These m&ms;sound like a luxury themselves. The economy sucks right now. I am trying to watch what I spend and cut back on junk food. This would be a great thing to win because like I said before I LOVE chocolate!!  smile

To save all you ladies from having to worry about exercising and dieting if you won these, i will be the token male offering to take this worry away from you. I do chocolate and do not gain an ounce. Actually, i would give these to my wife and exercise with her to counteract any bad consequences.

I’ve never tried these but would love to. Chocolate always helps me to relax..I swear it does :D I also hide my candy. It’s in the middle drawer of the desk where my computer sits. It’s way in the back in a box marked important papers :D. My kids would never think to look there. If I win that’s where these babies would go!!

I hope my kids don’t read this ................

With three boys in my house, chocolate barely makes it in the door before it is scarfed.  This “fancy” chocolate may turn the boys off.  I can see it on my home office desk in its beautiful packaging with its gourmet flavours untouched by the grubby hands of boys.  Bring it on, Please!

I would share ( i think) with my best friend.  Or I could save them all til after my test at work…(that sounds like the best idea) LOL!

I could use this little luxury because I like to have just a little treat now and then and I would be able to seal them back up to stay nice and fresh until I was ready for more or until the little divas were onto me -  not all of them have learned the fine art of savoring yet. wink

I would love this, my husband is out of town (for a year..thank you military) and I’m here with the 3 kids, 14, 6, and 4 alone..OF COURSE I wouldn’t share it with the kids…hahah and the bread machine huh??  that might work..I usually hide mine in my closet with my other indulgences.

I was going to say “Chocolate Almond” until I saw the “Triple Chocolate.” Mmmmm. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Can’t wait to find these in the store.

Auriette  on  02/08  at  02:24 PM

I’ll be very adult about this and tell the truth. I’ve always hidden my chocolate from the kids. Did they find it? Usually.
I am addicted to the chocolate almond M&M’s. I’d be happy to see if any of the others would cure that addiction (by becoming my new addiction) lol

I love the raspberry Premium M&M’s.  I even went to work early last Monday, so I could get the $1 off coupons for them out of the Sunday paper.  Is this pathetic or what.  M&M’s are always a luxury because whenever I east them I relax and de-stress.

As long as I repackage them so I could spread them out, a small amount of a delicious, delectable treat doesn’t hurt the diet, and can actually help you stick to it and lose weight. Therefore, in proper moderation (!) it could be a diet food!

That’s my story, and I’m stickig to it!
