Fireside Wine Chat - A Pictorial

Lots of people on the intertwits have asked me what Fireside Wine Chat is, or as the evenings progress, Wirecat Sine Fat.  I decided to take some pictures this past Tuesday and what ensues is a taste.  It’s basically my living room, a group of people who met on twitter, a few bottles of wine (or bourbon, or whiskey, or . . . whatever is available in the liquor cabinet.  Rumpelminz, anyone?), and random topics of conversation.  Nerdily enough (it’s a verb! Really!), most drag their laptops with them.  The Mac people balance their whatever they are on fingertips, proving both their excellent sense of balance and the obvious thin superiority of Macs.  The PC people grumble and talk about their big screens and fast processors.  It’s all in good fun, really.  And it’s been interesting to see how many people can access my wireless at the same time.

The best thing about our informal gatherings is that I never know who’s going to show. Sometimes there’s drama, wondering if everyone will get along.  Mostly, everyone does.  By the end of the evening, most of us are sweating because the room is so hot from the fire, but no one wants to turn it off.  So we open the windows.  I’m all about saving energy and gas, people.

It’s just one of the small things these days that keeps me grounded.

I love this!  What a great idea!  And way to make a good friend sad by being so far away!  I wanna come….  :(
