I’m a 30-something mother of girls born 23 months apart. Originally hailing from the frosty throes of Northern Michigan, I now live in the humidity pit of the universe - Virginia. I recently closed my full-time consulting biz and work frantically on the e-commerce businesses every free chance I get. My blog deals with everything from surviving the SAHM life, owning a business, aging dogs and parents, and anything else that crosses my path. I attempt to stay sane, calm and interesting. I also try to keep my sense of humor on a daily basis. I used to be hip. Now I don’t bother. I live in the suburbs of Richmond and so far have successfully avoided driving a mini-van. I do, however, claim responsibility for the seasonal flag in the front of the house.

1. I’m a Taurus.
2. I’m married divorced to a Taurus.
3. I didn’t eat sugar or flour for 2 years.
4. I’m still trying to lose the “baby weight” and I had my last child in 2004.
5. I really like Pilates.
6. I’m into music and usually have it on at all times, except when sleeping.
7. I used to bite my nails.
8. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week but don’t have a workout buddy.
9. I have 9 email accounts.
10. I am obsessed with my iPhone.
11. I’m a middle of the road democrat.
12. I am not a runner, but I’m learning to be one.
13. Lily has motion sickness issues like her father.
14. Arden is really funny. I like to think her humor comes from me.
15. We had one dog. She was 15 when she died. I wanted a Great Dane, but instead adopted from the SPCA.
16. Richmond is a great place to be a female business owner.
17. I love to shop in Carytown.
18. My favorite restaurants in Richmond are Nacho Mama’s, The Lighthouse (defunct for years), and random places in Shockoe Slip and Bottom.
19. I am a recovering anorexic/bulimic/compulsive overeater.
20. I like gardening and yard work, but not when it’s hot outside, which is all summer here.
21. I grew up in Traverse City, Michigan.
22. Because of growing up in Traverse City, Michigan, I always feel land-locked unless I’m around open water.
23. I miss my hometown but not the weather.
24. I am on Twitter and Facebook a lot.
25. I love taking pictures but I’m not very good at it.
26. I’ve spoken nationally on professional services marketing concepts, but shudder at the thought of ever working with law firms again.
27. I graduated from University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, but never attended Hash Bash.
28. I had a fake ID long before I was 21, but not to drink. Just to get into Detroit clubs.
29. My first car was a light blue, rust-covered 1981 Diesel Rabbit.
30. My favorite color is purple.

32. I am phobic about spiders. They freak me out.
33. My dog has severe separation anxiety.
34. Everyone in my life has issues; even the dog.
35. I was diagnosed with Bipolar II in September of 2009.

44. I’m a recovering neat freak, but having kids is curing me of that.
